Education Program Manager
Elise Brimhall is the Education Program Manager at PBS Utah, and oversees the Ready To Learn initiative and all education outreach. She joined PBS Utah the summer of 2011 after receiving a Master of Arts in Child Advocacy with a focus in educational advocacy from Montclair State University. Prior to receiving her Masters, Elise was an elementary school teacher.
Elise manages the longstanding national PBS initiative, Ready To Learn, which includes Ready To Learn Family Nights hosted at Title I elementary schools in Granite School District. After seeing a community need for more quality parent and child interactions, Elise strategically moved Ready To Learn in the direction of Family Nights where the whole family benefits from engaging hands-on activities, each child takes home a book, and families eat dinner together.
Elise is passionate about supporting an equitable education for all of Utah’s children, including children from Utah’s indigenous communities. Access educational resources on Utah’s Native American communities by visiting pbsutah.org/native-american-heritage-collection.
Elise serves on the advisory board for NETA, Tracy Aviary’s Education Committee, Resilient Utah, and Utah State Library’s Utah Kids Ready To Read initiative. She is a past advisory board member of Utah Afterschool Network, and UEN’s American Graduate project, Salt Lake Education Foundation’s A Capital City Education, Salt Lake County’s Evidence2Success program in Kearns, and Salt Lake County’s Talking is Teaching campaign.
