Hiking in Neffs Canyon

It's Elise here and I am going to tell you about my all-time favorite year round outdoor activity, hiking. I am so lucky to live in such a beautiful place, and even luckier that my house is nestled right up against Mount Olympus. This puts me within minutes of dozens of hikes. The best part of hiking, is that it is a free activity that the whole family can participate in.

For my birthday this year, my friends and I hiked Neff's Canyon! Directions here:

The day started out chilly, but with the promise of a rope swing and once we got moving, the weather was perfect! The rope swing is about 1/4 mile up, and could be the perfect destination for you and your family if you are looking for a shorter hike. The rope swing is sturdy and safe, but definitely requires some parent help!

Hiking in the winter requires good footwear and lots of layers. It's amazing how quickly you warm up on the trail! Stay tuned for more family friendly hikes and tips & tricks as I head out on the trails this winter!

Now get outside and get into nature!
