My Holiday Traditions

Hey friends! It's Elise and today I am sharing with you my favorite Holiday traditions! Each year, while putting out Christmas decorations, we reminisce over all the great times we have had together as a family! My brother and I would get our photo taken with Santa every year (we even have one with Santa as adults, but I’ll spare my brother the embarrassment). It’s such a joy to look through photos, cards, and letters we have received from friends and family throughout the years.

When I was young, we always baked and decorated gingerbread men to hang on our tree. This year I am bringing back the gingerbread tradition… kind of. The holidays are always SO busy. I wanted a fun but easy activity to help bring in the holiday season. I settled on a premade gingerbread house. I found ours at our local grocery store for around $10. We got the best tip from someone at the store, who suggested we use a hot glue gun to glue the pieces together first! Of course!

I love how our gingerbread house turned out – even though it’s nothing like the gingerbread houses we saw at The Festival of Trees!

I still have so much on my holiday traditions “to-do list” that I need to check off: bake and decorate cookies, donate to Candy Cane Corner at the Road Home Family Shelter, look at Christmas lights, and see the Christmas Luminaries at Wasatch Memorial Park in Holladay on December 20.

What are your favorite traditions?

Elise
