The Soul of Things: Antiques, Collecting, and the Stories We Keep
Why do we hold onto certain objects? What stories do they carry—and what do they say about us? Join PBS Utah for a thought-provoking discussion inspired by Antiques Roadshow’s recent visit to Salt Lake City, exploring the deeper meaning behind the objects we collect. This event brings together rare book dealer and Antiques Roadshow appraiser Ken Sanders, Tim Glenn from the Museum of Utah, and a collector, Mary Catherine, to delve into the personal, philosophical, and historical dimensions of collecting. Together we’ll discuss the emotional and cultural significance of collectibles, and how they help us preserve memory, identity, and place.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP to Jessica Rasekhi jrasekhi@pbsutah.org. You may RSVP for up to 2 people.
This event is part of the Winter Shared Stories Series in partnership with the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.
