Wills and Trusts
Making a gift in your will or revocable living trust is a meaningful way to support PBS Utah and ensure public television continues to serve Utah communities for generations. You can name PBS Utah as a beneficiary at any time by adding a provision to an existing document or creating a new one.
Here are some ideas on how to make a gift to the station in your will or living trust:
- You can give a specific dollar amount or property item,
- You can give a percentage of your asset(s),
- You can give all or a portion of what remains after gifts to other beneficiaries such as your family and friends have been made
- Your gift can be contingent upon special circumstances or events.
No matter the size or structure, a gift in your will or living trust helps ensure PBS Utah remains a vital, trusted resource for generations to come.
If you’ve already made or are updating your estate plans and wish to include PBS Utah, the following language can be used:
“[I/We], [Name/Names], of [City], [State] [Zip Code], hereby give, devise and bequeath to the University of Utah, a body politic and corporate of the State of Utah and fiscal agent of KUED/ PBS Utah, [written dollar amount, percentage of the estate, or description of property]. The details and use of this gift will be memorialized in a separately executed gift agreement with the University of Utah. The University of Utah is a tax-exempt organization, both as a political subdivision of the State of Utah and a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Code. The University of Utah Tax EIN is 87-6000525.”
