Hey everyone! My name is Missy and I am an artist and blogger for PBS KIDS Utah. When I used to babysit my nephew, we would go on shape hunts. We would choose a circle, square, rectangle or triangle and walk around the house searching for that shape. We would count as many as we could find. I thought this would be a fun activity for you to try this week.
Supplies:
- Printed PDF worksheet
- Pencil
- Crayons
Instructions:
- Choose a shape on your worksheet to start with.
- Walk around your house and search for that shape. Count as many as you can find.
- Using your pencil, write the number of how many you found on the line next to the correct shape.
- Now hunt for a different shape.
- Record the number of each shape you find.
- Now use your crayons to color the worksheet.
Wrap-up:
I bet you didn’t realize you had so many different shapes hiding around your house! If you want to play more, you can search for other shapes: stars, hearts, ovals, diamonds, etc. Be creative and have fun!
