For chef Katie Weinner creation comes in many forms, from colors and combinations to the plate and palate. She finds inspiraton working with exotic ingredients, often spinning a classic dish into something amazing. Traveling the world, she gleans culinary ideas from various cultures and tastes.
Katie been everything from a barista, to pastry cook, to banquet chef and over the last five years, culinary instructor. She took the idea of modern fine dining and transformed the student-run restaurant at the Art Institute in Salt Lake City. Inspired from throwing eclectic dinner parties, Katie started ‘SLC POP’, a pop-up restaurant business where quests can experience her exquisite dishes on a selected time and place.
